Goldman is World’s Largest Hedge Fund
Check out the following on Ross’s blog, interesting article.
Remakes
Just recently I have seen to movie remakes, The Omen and The Hills Have Eyes. The original versions of each made within a year of each other in 1976 ish, I have to admit I never saw the original Hills have Eyes, but as far as horror movies are concerned, I very much enjoyed the new version of Hills have Eyes, gory and scary, just what I like in a horror movie, unlike Hostel which I thought was just nasty and violent, and to be honest a little to close to being real for my taste. As far as the Omen, they should have left well alone.

Excel finance functions
I have been recently helping a friend of mine understand the functions IRR/NPV and XIRR/XNPV and came across this, which provides a good description and examples of the usage of these functions, in conjunction with the approrpiate Microsoft Excel online help. If you need something a little heavier to read on IRR, then check out the following IRR explination
SPOIL
I have posted about this technology before, SPOIL but its worth a mention again given my previous posting. If you agree that Stored Procs should be used as an interface to the database, then SPOIL provides the language implementation, and it becomes to the programmer nothing more than a function call.
Stored Procs as Interface
I came across a very interesting article, discussing the use of Stored Procs, http://www.simple-talk.com/2006/06/06/to-sp-or-not-to-sp-in-sql-server-an-argument-for-stored-procedures/ this article voices many of the thoughts that I have been having over the recent months.
